Two Tin Cans and a String: Getting Your Spreadsheets to Talk to Each Other
Described by participants as "an amazing toolset to acquire" and a "very useful explanation of a challenging Sheets feature", this session was my debut presentation at Googlepalooza, the world's largest free Google for Education event.
Good, efficient systems of data management lay the foundation for how teachers are able to use data in their instructional practice. By making sure that your information and systems are as automated, accurate, and easy-to-use as possible, we create a foundation for good data practice. In this session, attendees learned how to use VLOOKUP to link information from multiple sources.

Data Management 101 & 102 in Google Sheets
In order to build data literacy and technical skills for my colleagues in the Talent Office, I developed a series of courses and resources in basic data management using Google Sheets. Google Sheets is one of the most popular softwares for small-scale data management both in general and within Chicago Public Schools, being used for everything from basic surveying to managing district-wide COVID testing efforts. In these hands-on courses, we covered the basics of navigating Google Sheets to customize data sets and prepare information for analysis and implementation.
Course participants also received an invitation to my weekly Google Sheets Office Hours to continue learning and troubleshooting, as well as a "Google (Cheat) Sheet" that I created to serve as a quick-reference supplemental resource.

Desmos "Spins the S"
As a lover of math, technology, and marching bands, it was only a matter of time until I found a way to combine the three. Here is a video of an animation I created in Desmos, intended to replicate the drill from the Spartan Marching Band's famous "Spinning the S" pregame move. Accompanying the video is the mellophone part to Victory for MSU, sung by yours truly.
Having some fun with @Desmos this weekend - any @MSUMarchingBand fans out there recognize this? It's a section of the band's pregame show called "Spinning the S" #BandGeek #MathAndMusic #Desmos pic.twitter.com/mW5zZWkfpd
